Know Your Medications

Don’t leave the Doctors office without knowing the names of the medications you are being prescribed and understanding their purpose.

Understand the Directions

Make sure you fully understand how to take your medications. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. The more you know, the safer you are.

Check the Label

Check the label on your drugs container every time you take your medication to ensure it’s right. This is especially important if you take multiple medications.

Keep in Original Container

Many pills look alike. Keeping your medications in their original containers protects you from accidentally taking the wrong medicine.

Keep an Updated List

Keep an updated list of all medications, prescribed or OTC, you are currently taking. Be sure to give a copy to your healthcare provider.
